Adrian Jankowiak

Director & Founder of Nairobi Design Week (Kenia)

Adrian studied Design and Technology, Art, History and Polish at Trinity School, Croydon (1999 – 2006).

Loughborough University has awarded him a 2:1 BA(Hons) in Industrial Design and Technology.

His professional carrer includes:

African Crossroads (2020-2022)

Tech & Creative Lead: Providing and implementing a strategy to connect 300+ professionals across 30+ African countries through events, design and technology.

Nairobi Design Week Director & Founder (2014-Present): Working on projects to strengthen the creative community in Kenya, and ensure the success of the annual festival, supported by programmes and community activities.

Greenlight Planet (April 2016- Feb 2017) 

Creative Director: Built a team and creative strategy to serve 6+ million solar customers across 40+ countries. Work included campaigns, customer and investor presentation decks, improved shopping experiences for customers, office & shop design, packaging and revised brand identity.

WSUP (April 2014-July 2015)

Human-centred Designer: Prototyping lead, working for the BMGF funded NGO initiatives across Kenya, Ghana and Bangladesh and the UK to develop water and sanitation products and services for urban citizens.

Reckitt Benckiser (October 2010-July 2013) Industrial Technology Sourcing Designer: Hands-on role in the New Technologies Group gathering insights, designing consumer products, creating feasibility prototypes, sourcing new technologies and managing international projects across RB’s top brands. Received a promotion to ‘associate’ level, line managed industrial design placement students and mentored junior designers.

Gween Toys (April- September 2009) Industrial Designer: Designed three launch products for a new range of toys. Worked directly with the manufacturers to bring about improvements and led the packaging design team.
