Crafts as a form of activism

23 November

During the toughest phase of lockdown, we suddenly had to learn to live with what we had closest to hand, to curb a frenetic rate of generating and consuming, to appreciate small things.

The craft sector defends an alternative way of producing: slower and on a small scale, prioritizing local materials, appreciating uniqueness and capable of redefining itself and adapting to new times, integrating technologies without losing its essence. It is a way of understanding, reflecting and acting on our environment. A form of activism.
