Architectures by Ricardo Bofill

17 June

Ricardo Bofill, a renowned Catalan architect and urban planner, will impart a conference organized by ARQUIN-FAD. This will be an exceptional occasion for learning about his point of view in regard to architectural and urbanistic creation and for analyzing his vision of the sector’s evolution over the years.

In 1963 Bofill was the driving force behind the Taller de Arquitectura, a group comprising multidisciplinary professionals who sought to come up with answers to architectural issues from the standpoint of engineers, urban planners, sociologists, writers, film directors and philosophers. Over many years this group has undertaken projects of different kinds around the world: from cultural facilities to airport terminals, sports venues, office buildings and urban planning projects, among others.

At the start of the 2000s, Taller de Arquitectos regrouped in its Barcelona headquarters located in an old cement factory to continue to take on international projects on an urban scale, contributing to a new integrated urbanism. Bofill has the ability to produce a successful design with in-depth knowledge of the context and reality of the different cities, adding worldwide experience to his knowhow.

The Catalan architect has conceptualized architectural works as well known as W Hotel Barcelona, 3900 Alto Road, Walden-7, Terminal 1 of El Prat Airport and the extension of Madrid’s La Castellana boulevard, among others.

It will be streamed live in this link.
