LIVING THE TEINEI NA SEIKATSU WITH YUKIKO KITAHARA

14 June

Yukiko Kitahara (National Crafts Prize) is a ceramist descended from master chefs in Tokyo who passed on to her the importance of tableware in Japanese customs.

Faced with the habit of using and throwing away, Yukiko reflects on its damage. This is why her collection encourages us to reflect, with its symbolism, on the use of long-lasting objects. From white porcelain, her work seeks to reach the essential under the leitmotiv “Teinei na seikatsu”, a philosophy that invites us to pause and to create a harmonious connection with our inner self and the one that surrounds us.

This meeting with the artist is part of the cycle promoted by FELICES Agency, Avdentes Fortuna Iuvat, which aims to inspire us by capturing creativity and innovative ideas through conversations. The previous “Avdente”, David Ruiz (Ruiz+Company), thrilled us with his adventures circumnavigating the world solo aboard his sailboat. We were able to learn from his anecdotes in the face of adversity, as well as his courage in facing the uncertainty of closing down and reopening his studio.
