(DIS)CONSUMPTION / DEBATE AROUND THE USE OF EXPERIMENTAL ARTEFACTS

22 June

Exhibition and round table, open to all, organised by the 3rd year students of the Degree in Design from the subject Research in Design directed by Elena Bartomeu.

Experimentation is a creative process that is part of design, but also of research and product development. In this exhibition we will present and discuss the projects carried out by the students of the Design Research course, with the aim of establishing a new relationship of use with what surrounds us.

Design is presented as a trial-and-error process (DC, 2019) that contains experimental practices that introduce possibilities for improvement. This fact orients design practice towards a state of the desired, transgressing the linearity in decision-making that would orient it towards the predictable.

It is at the confluence of the foreseen and the unpredictable that the research projects to be presented emerge, which apply processes of experimentation in novel areas: users and urban spaces, consumption of the absurd, creation of images with AI, etc.

(DES) CONSUM is presented in exhibition format, with works by Regina Aguilar, Nela Domenech, Anna Escoda, Roberto Espinosa, Anna Nuño, Juanma Valencia, tutored by Elena Bartomeu.
